It can vary, but they tend to be a one-stop shop for your project. For example, a bathroom renovation could require a demolition team, plumber, electrician, HVAC specialist, drywaller, painter, glass installer, etc. A contractor has connections to these various subtrades and manages all their scopes of work, efficient sequencing, scheduling and quality control. The GC becomes your primary point of contact and manages all aspects of the project so that you don’t have to.
It varies. We always make sure we can meet with you within a few days of your request to go over your project requirements and preferred timelines. The scale of your project directly affects when the project could take place.
No. We will provide you a complimentary site visit and estimate/ quote. If you wish to pursue the project further, a fee structure will be outlined for you at that time.
The simplest answer is if it’s in your home, we can help. We have an extensive list of trusted subtrades and experienced renovation professionals. There is rarely something we can’t take on, but we do focus primarily on interior and exterior residential and commercial renovations.
Smaller scale renovation such as bathrooms and kitchens generally don’t require you to move-out. There are alternatives you can consider to ease the temporary inconveniences (i.e. BBQ’ing instead of using a cooktop or stove). If you work from home and require a quiet space, you may want to consider relocating during working hours. Larger scale renovations that include entire levels of your space may merit relocating.
It varies significantly depending on the volume of work you want to tackle, but generally speaking you can expect the following timelines:

No. We have an in-house team of professional and experienced renovation technicians who do the bulk of our work. This allows further attention to detail because a dedicated and familiar team of individuals will be on-site nearly everyday to allow for better continuity and project management.
You will have a dedicated project manager, CCG team members, and trusted subtrades throughout your home. We generally work from 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday. Any special arrangements around pets or entry times can be accommodated. You will be provided with a schedule so that you know who to expect and when. Renovations can sometimes have delays or move quicker than expected – you will be updated accordingly.

Quote: A detailed and clear scope of work to be done for an agreed upon price.

Estimate: A price range for a project, used mainly for budgeting purposes to see if your anticipated budget meets the requirements for the project. Can also be used in tandem with Time and Materials as a budgeting guidepost.

Time and Material: The alternative to a quote for a project is to work at time and material. You then only pay for the actual time and the actual materials it took to complete the project.

Yes, we have a design team who can provide renderings and offer suggestions based on style and functionality. We can also provide architectural or engineered drawings if required at an additional cost. See more info here.

It depends. Generally, most renovations that don’t require moving plumbing, HVAC, electrical, structural work or changes to the building envelope do not require a permit. Permitting’s primary function is to ensure that the project adheres to code and safety guidelines for all parties involved. A permit can be included on nearly any project if requested, and will be included if required. We would take care of all administration and inspections on your behalf.
